Titleist’s new U505 and T200 utilities: 5 things you need to know
The new Titleist U505 and T200 utility irons offer golfers hybrid-like distance and performance in a more traditional compact shape.

To go along with the new Titleist T-Series irons, and to complete the family of options available to golfers looking for long-game gapping solutions, Titleist has introduced the U505 and T200 utilities.
Here are five things you need to know about the new utility irons from Titleist.
1. Built to blend
The new U505 and T200 (utility build) give golfers the opportunity to seamlessly blend their iron sets into the longer irons with plenty of options to create proper gapping into hybrids and fairway woods.
The larger U505 is available in 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-irons, while the T200 comes in 2-, 3- and 4-irons to provide a more compact look from address to blend into a standard set of T200s, T150s or T100s.
The same 3D-fitting principles that apply to the T-Series irons also apply to the utilities, with the U505’s shallower shape creating a higher launch and slightly more spin to help those golfers that would prefer to play an iron-like club over a hybrid.

2. What’s inside
Both the U505 and the T200 utilize the same technology platform, including a high-speed face supported by max-impact with heel and toe tungsten weights to create a higher MOI and a lower center of gravity.
What separates them is each club’s individual geometry, with the U505 being shallower and longer from heel to toe with a wider sole, while the T200 is more traditional and falls in line with the rest of the T200 iron set.
3. More feel and better control
Week in and week out on the PGA Tour, Titleist is the No. 1 utility iron, so when it comes to making tweaks to the design it’s really the small things that matter.
Improving feel at impact was one of the largest focus points during the development of the U505, just like it was with the whole T-series irons, and to accomplish this the U505 incorporates the same improved max-impact dampener along with a refined cavity badge to help it feel great off the middle and around the rest of the face.
4. Added performance
Iron sets are no longer homogenous parts of a golf bag for players across all skill levels. In fact, a majority of Titleist’s staff professionals (around 80%) use some sort of blended set to find performance gains, and with that in mind, the engineers worked toward creating greater consistency in the utility irons — specifically the U505 — to deliver hybrid-like performance with iron-like control.
“Between all the changes that we made to U505, the performance goal was to make all launch parameters across the face more consistent — from spin to launch to speed,” said Marni Ines, Titleist’s director of product development. “Along with the performance, the U505 also got an updated, tour-inspired profile, so that from address it presents a really clean and player-preferred shape.”
5. Two options, one price
Both the U505 and the T200 utility build offer the same featured and upgraded premium shafts and are also priced the same at $269 for featured and $399 with premium options.

The new U505, along with the full T-Series lineup of irons, is now available for fitting at Titleist retail accounts and will be available in golf shops globally starting Aug. 25.
